if you are patient a 308 rem 700 full rifle will pop up for less than the cost of this whole rebarrel

and then you can have two rifles

only rebarrel if you need something in a caliber its not offered in unless money isnt an issue, rebarrels cost more than second hand complete rifles these days

I assume that the .270 is a bolt action so what about one of those neat little Bergara single shots in .308. Even new they are around the cost of a rebarrel plus they break down and go in your pack.
