    I use a konus spot 15-45x60 i only paid $190 from jacobs digital. We have used it judging Tahr and chamois out to 1km and it seems to do the trick

    So the idea for me is that I just want to assess whether i need to get a closer look at an animal or just keep walking, I have been measuring heads for a few years now and already have a fair idea how good they are but through 10x binos just doesn't cut it at range.

    Would your rifle scope not do the job?

    I think he's talking about judging potential at distances of 1km+. So probably not.

    My luck with cameras isnt great so far. im not sure if id be killing 2 birds either when i have 6+ cameras now, lol

    I'm selling my Yukon Optics 20-50x50 WA for $120
    Cheap and seems to be OK. Paid $249 new a couple years ago from Yukon 20-50 x 50 spotting scope by Yukon Optics New Zealand

    Holy CRAP just googled it in NZ - Outdoor Supplies want $545 for it???
