And since most retailers work one the "buy it real cheap and sell it for heaps" model its why we get shit quality.

    Could not agree more.
Also they will make it exactly as you specify it. I know off a nz company that got some stainless steel stuff made over there, they asked for stainless steel but didn't specify what type - they ended up getting 304 instead of 316. NZ customers fault, but they slagged the manufacturer.

    A bit of update.

I contacted T-eagle, expressed my concerns and at the same time why I am interested in their product. The guy was quite nice to talk to.

I asked them if they would consider send me a scope for a forum pass around. My proposal was that once I receive it I would do some testing, and then I would pass in it onto another person in the forum, that person would do some testing in his/her own way, and then send it to the next person - whomever may be interested in this exercise.

T-eagle turn me down, apparently do not think there is much value in this.

Given that there are no reviews - comprehensive or otherwise - on the internet at all (except a few on on aliexpress, one of which says the scope does not stop down to 10 yard as advertised), I was weary about trying their product (which is why I posted this thread in the first place). Now that it would appear that they do not think the cost of one scope is worth the marketing effort, my confidence is further undermined. I may come back to this thing in a few months time and see if there are any positive and properly conducted reviews.

Some random dude from some random forum asks for a free scope to then give to some other randoms with no credibility to their ability to review properly and you're surprised they said no?

Even if you were a magazine or well known blogger who frequently reviews items you might not get one from most manufacturers.

Shell out and buy it, review it if you like. If it's good keep it, if its shit $1 reserve it. End of the day you won't loose out all that much

Bro, nobody is going to do a ‘properly conducted review’ on a piece of shit $250 scope. It’s not worth buying, let alone doing a review on it.

You should buy it and do the review. That way you will know for sure. It’s only $250.

How do you know that it is a legit vortex scope ? I bought woolen gloves and they turned out to be acrylic. I wouldn't trust them.

It isn't quite that simple. of course Leupold doesnt need to give anyone free scope to test, everyone knows who Leupold is and it has a great reputation. But this brand has zero review and reputation, they have been around for some time now and given the amount of the effort in their marketing they want to do better. I think at cost of one scope getting multiple reviews is not a bad deal.

Sure, they may not trust me and think that I may just run off, that is a different concern.

TBH part of me kinda agrees with you. The time cost and ammo cost involved, for a 50/50 shitty scope, seems like a pointless proposition.

On the other hand I wish, therefore have hopes, for something like this. Currently mainstream brands do not make low-cost scope with modern for low powered rifles. if you want things like Christmas tree type hold over reticles, push and pull turrets, side focus, 4+ zoom range etc. you usually have to pay big money for the mid to top models for them, even if you just want to use it on a 17 HMR.

I think there may be only one such scope from a semi-known (if that) brand: https://athlonoptics.com/product/rif...lr-ffp-ir-mil/

If they're fake they're probably better than a vortex

Why would any one buy wooden gloves from China? Crossfire11's are made in China so the chance is that they are the real deal the factory probably overruns orders
from Vortex and flogs them on Aliexpress
