Just had a thought... The howa/vanguards would be fine for out of a truck and inexpensive. Could grab a stainless one, biff the stock and put it in a boyds laminate... Cheapest vortex or Nikon scope... Sorted!!
But if I've got the money I'm getting a CZ!

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

Whilst I have a bunch of different calibers - I think its best to keep it simple, especially when giving advise. Based on your description I would go for either .223 or .243 & I love both. Taking versatility and ammo cost into account I would go for .223 as coyotes are not big boned. If you were looking to push out to 500 meters then I would choose a 22-250. If you think you might have a crack at bigger game then go for the .243. Personally I would buy both ... which I did. ATB ... gunzrrr
