I bought a new 85 Bavarian year before last. Spent cases would hit the windage turret on the way out, with vigorous ejection. But never had any cases fall back into the action, so I wasn’t concerned.

I had this with an a7 7RM, hit vx6hd windage and fell back into action every time, sako bolt heads are a design flaw, I have this documented on my invoice by Robbie tiffen from Gunworks to… my 85 708 has weak extraction sometimes dribbles out but doesn’t bother me really. Hence why I’m not doing a semi custom on a tikka and not a sako… was told from beretta to that it’s the diameter of the windage turret and not their design, they don’t want a bar of it and suggested I mount the scope a foot high off the action, surprise surprise there!

Lol you tried to prove that to me by sending a video of Phil's one working perfectly and it was clunky as shit and dropped a round in the action haha

Phil is not a normal person though we are aware of that.
The point I was making having had God knows how many sakos ( probably more than Buzz) is I've never ever had one not eject, not once.

Depends alot on the case dimensions that are being ejected and the ring height. If you want to run low rings, then you'll start noticing it real quick.

I found that with a low mounted scope couple of times sighting in but only cause of working the bolt gently, never had a problem in a hunting situation where working the bolt with vigour.

I have only ever used lows.....but then I have only ever used 308 in the 85s....they work perfectly.

    Ah, no.
Exactly the same barrel and equal if not better accuracy.

Both my 85's struggle with lows. As an estimate, I'd say the 270win would eject 70% of the time at best, the 270wsm was worse at only 30% of the time. Even with meds the wsm still fails occasionally. Like a few guys have said you have to be energetic with the bolt for best results. I don't think a $3500 new rifle should perform like that, but I still have two, but I bought them 2nd hand
