Like a few guys have said you have to be energetic with the bolt for best results. I don't think a $3500 new rifle should perform like that, but I still have two, but I bought them 2nd hand
I think your problems start with 2 and rhyme with 70

Largely aesthetics. The functionality is still up there, the value more so.
We'll hafta agree to differ then

PS. I own a Sako as well.

Both my 85s have been faultless. Both have low optilock ring mounts. One wears a fairly bulky vx6, no problems..

I have a 85 in 9.3. It’s a ss laminate with a Zeiss 1.5-6x42 in extra low optic locs. It ejects fine but others seem to have issues with 9.3d and certain scope and mount combos. Personally I see no place for opens on a good bolt gun even for close shooting in scrub/bush country. The optics are so much better in poor light when your likely to see game. Lots of tikka 9.3d here. Feed back is they have nasty recoil but work fine. Recoil pad upgrade to Limbsaver req. no top feeding etc.

Not in NZ or Aus, but I have an "offer" on two rifles that are sold at a discount.
    Tikka T3 Hunter
    Sako 85 Hunter

I dont have photos of either.

    Both blued and walnut stock.
    Tikka without open sights
    Sako With open sights..

    So, I would use:
    Tikka: Optics and suppressor
Sako: Ghost / peep sight, no suppressor

Complete set up with optics and silencer:
    T3: 4080

Complete set up with Ghost/peep sight, no silencer.
    85: 3260
isn't this like 'there's a fire in the house and you can only save one child?'
