that will scrub off...
75/15/10 black powder matters
Yeah it's gone now. I laughed out loud when I saw it.
Love this rifle, a bit rust doesn't matter.

My older howa seemed to get more rust than the newer, but again like yours around the stock. Even after going to the effort of getting it bead blasted I got a little more but to preserve the surface finish I got rid of it with citric acid. It seems to do a good job
My blued howa mini seems more rust proof than the "stainless".

My stainless howa mini rusts in front of your eyes, my old blued one seemed impervious to rust even getting dragged through wet fiordland bush... go figure!
Its patina not rust. I warm my stainless howa up and rub lanocoat into it to try and help weather proof it
How well does lanocote work blip? I was interested to see how well it went for case lube but didnt think about it for preventing rust on the rifles.
Took my Barnard out in the rain a few weeks back and then popped it out of its stock last week for a bedding job. It had a few bits of rust forming but nothing like what you've pictured. I applied some LPS3 to it before putting it back in the stock. Should protect it nicely.

I put lanocote on the exposed bits if the action and that worked really well. Would the lube work not mess with the bedding under recoil?

Thats why you only put it on some parts
