The issue with a forward clip is the change of zero that will most likely occur. Although admittedly I haven't used one I did quite a bit of research on this before going to the rear attachment system. Apparently some of the later model Thermal forward clipons have a zero compensating function which is intended to work around this. The other issue I see is the fact that with a forward clipon you are restricted to quite low magnification so for me at least where shots are taken out to about 350m on smaller targets like fallow deer this is not ideal. As far as the issue with eye relief using a rear mounted clipon the new Pard 007s pretty much sorts out this problem. I have in the past used the 007v and eye relief was a real issue, I have since moved to the 007s and the difference is night and day (no pun intended). The 007s also comes with proper shims for fitting to different scope eye pieces.

Iv had 3 clip/on s now,one NV,2 thermal,no zeroing. The clip on acts just like a monocular. You just use the cross hairs on yr scope.Bugger rezeroing the clip on,i just switch the thermal cross hairs off.I keep most of my night shooting under 250yds,mostly 50yds to 200yds.

On TM theres a InFiRay CH50V2,buitifull unit design for scopes up to 9x.I know iv got one. Will get it on a new burris scope next week. Both have the same fov and the scope is a 2.5x10x42.Iv got a Rusan adaptor that is only .5mm bigger the the objective bell of scope. Will be a very net fit.The clip on will centralise on the scope very well.Looking forward to trying it out.Have shot one deer thru the V2,couldnt miss.lol.308 zeroed at 200yds.

I've had my forward clipon shoot from my zero at 100m, to dialed up at 327m and still hit square on where my cross hairs were.
Good feedback. also from @Trout.
Its great to get this feedback from people who have actually used one. Certainly the forward clipon has a lot of great features. Can you tell me more about scope magnification. What sort of scope did you have this on. Was it Thermal or NV? what is the maximum scope power you could run this on and still get a good image.

I had this on a Burris 2-10@44 thermal core fx38q , I could zoom right into 10x and still make out the target. But a little pixelated.
You dont have to have a flash day scope. Its the specs that are important.Generally i can dial up to 4x and shoot deer out to 300yds.My daughter is bringing up my new burris scope today($400)2.5-10x42 from the deep south.Il try it out on the InFiRAY CH50V2 tonight.Il let you know tomoro how it goes.
Cheers for that. I will be interested in the outcome. With the Pard 007s it has an inbuilt minimum base magnification of 4x. Some when I hook it up with my Swaro 3.5-18 i set the scope to the minimum magnification of 3.5. By my reckoning that gives me an actual magnification of 14x. This seems to work Ok. I reckon I would struggle with 4x at 300m on a small target like a fallow. Its the one thing which put me off the Thermal forward devices, Not sure what magnification limitations there are with a NV forward, I would be interested in anyone's feedback on this.

I use to have this set up couple of yrs ago, very good out to 400-500yds.If deer are in the open all good, when deer move to cover very hard to see them even in behind a bit of broom or matagari, lost a couple of deer caus of this.Thru my thermal monoculars they stood out perfectly for shooting.
I run a 007a on three rifles too. I’ve got a 48mm adaptor and use different thickness’s of alkathene pipe as sleeves. just like the pic above. Works well.
Not that pic, earlier one of sleeve.
