Very nice! It is pre-WW2 manufacture (the pictured proof marks were in use from 1891 to 1939). My guess is from the late 1920's to early '30's. It would be very hard to find another in that condition and I would suggest $1200-1500. There are probably a few collectors who would like to get their mitts on it!
Thank you. I would say so...the condition is amazing. Was hoping to track down production year. I thought early 20's. Model M?
I can lend you that book when I’m back

Ah that makes sense and ties in with @gundoc
i like the flip rear sight. Nice rifle and in 7x57. Excellent.
Wouldnt mind one of them one day
Learned something, I had it in my head that the commercial actions didn't have the thumb cut on the left side of the action and no clip guide... Nice rifle though, as they say condition is everything and this one is great!
It's a Type B , more than likely re-blued as it looks so nice , hard to tell in pics but stock has either been sanded down and checkering removed or it's not the original stock , get your friend to take the stock off , there should be the serial number in the barrel channel , this will effect its value.
Bit more info for you , serial numbers date the rifle 1924/25 , not certain it is a Type B now , it is unusual to have that large Mauser banner on the front receiver ring like that , the 7 x 57 were built on a intermediate action which makes them quite special in there own right , same size action Mauser was selling to Rigby
to build there 275 Rigbys on .
Gidday all. The stock doesn't look like the majority of type Bs I've seen . . .
My copy of Speeds history of mausers shows 1924-25 as well for the serial number. Flick me your email and I can send you a copy.
