@Tahr. The width across turrets about 80mm while the 56mm bell about 65mm. Pic is S&L 6.5*55 with 56mm objective. M high mounts.

    Nit pickers.
Even then '10x' is going to vary from scope to scope.

The only way to doing a 'fair' comparison would be to have them set so the exit pupil was equal and discernable (i.e less than 7mm), and were in exactly the same position for the purpose of light transmission, but fuck doing the legwork for that!

Well aware of that. However its nice to have some good magnifacation at times. I may do another with them each on 10x. Your suggestion would feuire the leupold to be set on 6x to compare equally with 56mm on 8x or the 50mm on 7x. The magnified detail of the target and surrounds are where the bigger objective lens gives an advantage in low light, other things being equal.

Finding the best setting for each scope is what I have done when comparing, after all out in the field we adjust for the best setting on any given scope.

Nah @tetawa, the jury would be bitch scratching each other for a month. Thanks for your efforts, @Woody.
    ANTSMAN and tetawa like this.
Used to be a fine wine - now I'm vinegar.
