I'll be on the look out for good 22 mag semi too (with multiple mags), along with possibly 150,000 other NZ shooters. I like the look of this one, anyone want to import a bunch?

22lr will give you a sound of "dick" to 100m, 22mag should be ok for "dong".
I can't believe those first 2 pages of posts..........You guys have just indicated to the Police and politicians what firearms they missed in their list of prohibited firearms! Guess which firearms will be banned now in the second tranche of prohibitions? Brilliant guys, just f...ing brilliant!! Thanks a lot!!
Second tranche of prohibitions has been done and dusted and signed off weeks ago even longer. It just hasnt been announced yet.
GUN CONTROL IS A TIGHT 5-SHOT GROUP.
There are 22 Mag AR-15s, but they aren't easy to find and you'll be paying double what a CZ 512 Tactical will cost.
That said, it was still remiss of me to leave them out, so here you go:
These are made by an American company called Ray-Vin, but are no longer listed on their website.

These are made by a British company called Northwest Custom Parts. They're good, but very pricey.

The Tanfoglio Appeal, also known as the EAA Appeal, is a wicked cool bullpup in 22 Mag, although it would need a tiny bit longer barrel to be legal here.

I'd also like to make some honourable mentions of non-AR 22 Mag Semi Autos that you might be able to find.
The Savage A22 has a cool delayed-blowback system that allows better consistency with different brands of 22 Mag ammo.
Magnum Research makes a Ruger 10/22 type rifle called the Magnum Lite .22 WMR.
Volquartsen makes eight Ruger 10/22 type rifles. These are the Fusion Take-Down, Lightweight, Superlite, IF-5, SF-1, Classic, Deluxe, and Inferno.
The CZ 512 is still available in non-tactical models as well.
The Excel Arms Accelerator is a space-age-looking rifle that is still available in 22 Mag. Their reliability record is mixed, but there are good ones.
If you're including rifles that are no longer in production, there's a decent selection:
Heckler & Koch HK 300
Brno ZKM-611
Harrington & Richardson Model 700
AMT 22 Magnum Hunter
Marlin 922M
Remington 597 Magnum
Ruger 10/22 Magnum

I learnt something from this thread. Only tacticool military machinegun looking rifles are cool. I'm gonna banish my sako to the back of the gun safe for eternity for fear of being labelled a teatotaller
270 is a harmonic divisor number[1]
270 is the fourth number that is divisible by its average integer divisor[2]
270 is a practical number, by the second definition
The sum of the coprime counts for the first 29 integers is 270
270 is a sparsely totient number, the largest integer with 72 as its totient
Given 6 elements, there are 270 square permutations[3]
10! has 270 divisors
270 is the smallest positive integer that has divisors ending by digits 1, 2, …, 9.
yeah well....once the rabid press get ahold of the thread and attached photos you can kiss goodbye ANY chance of them being legal for long and once again many sporting arms will get thrown into the net again.....
I saw the same thread elsewhere and had to ask myself if it was posted by a troll or ANTI with intention of cuasing mischeif.....seeing photos really makes me wonder.
Get real, the next lot of amendments coming have nothing to do with what a few dozen people post on this public forum.
Full registration (staged with license renewals), increased vetting restrictions - ie prove why you need a calibre/firearm, shorter license timespan, banning of magnum calibres (50 BMG and 338s), increased user pays/cost recovery and restrictions to pistols (max 10 round mags and no more pistol chassis) have been on the Police wish list long before 15/3/19.
Ducking your head down trying to stay out of the spotlight thinking you will keep your toys is a fantasy.
What’s coming is coming. Just bend over and enjoy it.
Welcome to Sako club.
You misunderstood what I meant. I posted a list of what I believe to be cool rifles. That list is not exhaustive and the fact that a firearm is not on the list does not mean that it isn't cool.
Sakos are very cool, too. They are just cool in a different way. The firearms on this list are all cool in the same specific way, hence why there aren't any Sakos on the list.
We all have our own tastes in firearms, and there are no good or bad, or right or wrong tastes. Firearms are pretty much all cool in some way, shape, or form.
I don't want to give the impression that these are the only cool guns or that I have something against any other types of guns. I like them all.

I don't think a second ban/buy back would be as easy to make people swallow tbh.
