Possibly because the stock was so glorious, you were afraid to put a ding in it while in the field?

There is a his and hers in our safe, his is a 25-06 Custom Classic with AAA+ Carlo walnut and 26" barrel. Hers is a 250 Savage AI Custom Classic with NZ Black Walnut stock and a 22" barrel.
Both rifles easily surpass the Cooper 1/2" 3 shot guarantee and I shot a 3 shot group at 400 metres that measured 0.81" with my 25-06.
When I bought them I also bought an Excalibur synthetic stock for each rifle for when we go hunting in rough or wet conditions. The top photo is the M54 250 Sav AI. The last photo is the two Coopers with a Sauer 202 between them.
