Have sent and reci bed a few lately.

Fast ways are to a business or depot pick up only. Was $35 to send 2 rifles between islands for a non account holder. The $35 was up to 10kg in weight.
Had a rifle sent back from gunworks which was pick up only from the nz courier depot.
It helps that I have been working within 5 minutes of both of these depots.

The trick is to send them in a cardboard box so :

    1 they don’t look like a rifle

2 the weight is under 5kg

This will keep costs down and stop pesky questions about bolts firearms forms etc.

I send and reci a few a week.

NZC seem to be the best after the shake up.

I should really get an account.

Do you tell them its a rifle? I'm needing to send mine away, got a golf club box that'll work. @300_BLK

    Always,

    Saves any hassle.

I try to always separate the bolt out if possible.

Fastways have put up their charges for firearms and improved their systems, after the debacle in Canterbury a few months back.
Last time I used them ~2 mo ago, costs had gone up by about $10 - 15 from memory (Nth Is delivery).
And they did ask if it was a firearm - good on them. I was happy to tell them "yes".
They recorded my details & FAL as well as model of boom stick and serial no. Good sensible precautions imo.
I sent the bolt separately by courier post.
    No issues or dramas.
I'd rather put up with a bit more control at this level to improve firearm security than provide our politicians or anti-gun lobby with reasons to come up with something really crazy.

Cheers for the intel boys, I ended up going to the local NZ Courier depot, not a hassle at all, just a quick bit of paperwork & that was that. Only painful bit was having to pay $73 for the privilege
Shoot it, root it & then BBQ it !!!

Is there any added hassles to sending ammo?

Some require factory packaging or separate from the rifle

I just used Fastways this morning.

Sent my rifle in a hardcase with 7 rounds inside a pouch and was told to attach the bolt on the outside of the package. Cost me $26. Sweet as?

I sent this from Cambridge to Napier

Dont think I'll be using Fastways, the CNUTs have had me on hold for 19 minutes so far, left the phone sitting on the desk and check if they've awnsered every 4 or 5 minutes, Mainfreight quoted me $111.50 so there out.
    Fuck couirers.

If Mainfreight were going to charge stupid money and offer no insurance, what incentive do you have to be honest?
