    Cover for bipod spikes?

I have some Gunworks spikes on my Harris bipod. While they are very good, they make a hole in everything they come in to contact with when being transported in backpacks, gun bags etc. Anyone come up with a clever solution? Something that could be left on the spikes when shooting on hard surfaces would be a bonus.

They are a real pain when you use them on the bonnet of your truck without a floormat down.... short length of garden hose impaled on them?
