    Why don't people use the longer mag and change bolt stop

    Won't work for 223, the Medium magazine feed lips are to far apart and the case just pops up between them.

    Exactly you can do the bolt stop yourself too with a file... I get it for 223 though.

    i used a long action mag with a spacer in the back for my 260. the med action bolt stop goes back plenty far enough to not need to change the stop. still floating about but now use aics mags.

    So a spacer and you shorten the mag follower?

    I really wish Tikka would just make the magazines longer, they must know it's an issue. The CTR magazine is a fair bit longer, and I think the Tac A1 also.

    I tried going this route with my WSM but the LA mag was slightly too narrow and although you could get the WSM cases in, it would only feed the top round leaving the others wedged below the feed lips so the bolt wouldn't pick them up.

    Why don't people just grind the block at the back of the magazine until the rounds fit?

    Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts

    @TikkaMag

    Did you ever crack this as I am looking for a long action 3 shot mag and don’t fancy spending $150. Does anyone else know where to get a good aftermarket one that will work with 284win?

    Good work
    I have one of his and it works exceptionally well
    Under the current climate it might be near impossible to get one in yourself, though it was always a little difficult Dave had a way of getting it out, which was then the problem, now the issues is getting it in
    Glad to see an actual importer.

    Yeah one by one its expensive and time consuming, we will have the entire range here
    We’ve loaded a few already

    https://owloptics.nz/product-categor...fle-magazines/

    Will also have the likes of the sight smoker, tikka tactical bolt handle - it actually screws in and out so you can be very quick in cycling or in to save the space
    Few weeks and they will be here - they may appear in a few stores, there isn’t the margin to do what normally happens, but I have a few we work with, helps them, us and Dave as well
