Yep, odds are the shorter length will make for a much smoother shooter, just flagging the potential for problems. As you said, all fixable, but potentially a pain if you aren't aware of them or the easy fix (suppressor).

I tested my own 12.5" carbine length NEA with ODL Samson Titanium suppressor today. Superb! Sounds like a 22 rimfire. Suppressor goes back over barrel to the gas block and sits nice under the handguard.
Im thinking the shorter barrel is going to fuck my Dpt modular can in no time tho, the problem with that can is you can open it up and have a look inside at the wear. on my other cans Im blissfully unaware of how fucked they are
Ill work on the picture that shits hard.
empty bottle for reference
Your scope could probably do with being mounted a couple of inches higher
nah mate thats bang on perfect
those cantilever mounts are the business
Took it out for a quick play this evening to see if it would run well and see how it would all go with the shorter barrel.
Flawless operation, such a joy to shoot, louder than before, hellishly fun to play with.
Put a target up at 100m to see how it runs and shot five shots at over a rest
Pleasantly surprised. If i ever attach a bipod I have no doubt it will piss under an inch.
As this is just a walk around point and shoot i couldn't care less
it all burns. just fire a short barreled rifle at night
Hmm seems like it dosent have the gas presure to send the bcg far enough back to lock it in the rearward position after the last shot for hold open
Time for an adjustable gas block?
Or you could run hotter handloads?
Welcome to Sako club.
adjustable gas block or open out the gas block, or open out the gas hole in the barrel?
before I get to that point ill check that the gas block is properly aligned and tight, as it worked fine yesterday
and I bloody like those hornady training rounds
such a good feeling to not have to look for brass in the long grass
Is this with your suppressor on or off? If it is with the suppressor on, and it isn't a gas-block alignment problem, then you'll probably need to get the gas hole enlarged.
If you're lucky you might be able to tune it to cycle with handloads and different projectile weights/ powder burn rates.
An adjustable gas block will help if you have too much gas, not if you don't have enough. Won't it?
