I have a early pre recall trail was in 223 but made up a second barrel for it in 300 blackout
From howa mini barrel
Took a bit to get it as accurate as I wanted
Ended up fitting bigger steel pillars epoxied in place and undercutting all the plastic then bedding
With a very hard drying epoxy mix to make stock rigid
Also the forend clamped via a sleeve to the barrel on mine so changed that
Made my own clamp and drilled holes through forend to access the clamp screws
Then made it one piece with the tig
Both shoot lights out as far as trails go 1/2” for the blackout with cheap ammo
And 3/4” for the 223 barrel
Not sure if it standard but my 223 factory barrel is chrome lined
And 3/4” not bad for that
When I got it off previous owner it was a 2.5-3” out the box rifle
Bedding the stock made the biggest difference bring down to just over a inch
Also cut bolt knob off re bent handle for ergonomics and made my own thread
On knob
For use with a thermal it is awesome and super compact when shortened up 765mm with stock
In carry position
Extended the stock is a bit flimsy
