    CZ Exclusive Ebony

Well, a couple weeks back i saw a mint CZ Exclusive Ebony on Tardme in .222....

I thought F$%# me that's actually pretty nice, wouldn't mind one.... one night sleeping on it and... it gone.

I started to check them out online, but there's F all info on them really except the sales blurb.

Now ive seen a .223 one pop up on Tardme, although starting at more than the .222

Who's got one or shot one? Rough worth?

Or thoughts on the rifles etc. all info appreciated

    -Mike

I've been thinking about them as a .223 option too.
I have handled the .223 but never shot one. Lots of good features and everyone I know who has CZ's of different calibres finds them darn accurate... and I have shot other calibres. I really like the triggers with the push forward to set option.
Other calibres and models can be surprisingly heavy but from memory I didn't find the last ebony .223 I handled noticeably so.

The one listed on big yellow seems to be an earlier version with the usual CZ trigger guard and longer 5 shot mag that pokes out below the stock. You cannot fit the shorter, flush fit 3 shot mags in this style of trigger guard... and I find that stick out 5 shot a pain. Right in the balance point for carrying single handed.
Have a look at Kilwell's web site https://www.kilwell.co.nz/products/c...rifles/CZ223EE
It shows the later design trigger guard that can take 3 shot or 5 shot mags. You may be able to find replacement trigger guard to change it over.

Other issue I noticed is that everyone I see with a scope fitted has darn high scope mounts. Seem like the bolt handle/shape/size gets very close to the eyepiece of scope.

If it wasn't for that trigger guard/5 shot mag, I would be keen on the listed one too but it just grates me too much.

Heck, didn't even know there was a earlier and later model.

Good points tho, and yeah, the bolt clearance dosn't seem to be user friendly for lower rings, everyone ive seen has high fugly ones.

I remember seeing them in Humping & Fisting like 10 years ago for about $1500 new!

They are just a flash CZ 527 so just google cz527 reviews for what ever caliber your interested in. Like previously mentioned you do need to run higher rings or slimmer scopes as they do have a high bolt lift. The bottom metal on the .223 version has changed. Now come with the flush 3 round mags. My .222 seems to prefer 40gr projectiles. Haven't done a lot of load development with it but would say it is more of a sub moa rifle than a sub half moa rifle. Mine is definately a neglected safe queen ( as in not getting used) so if anyone wants it for $1850 including a ziess conquest 3-9x40, pm me.

Cheers Cigar for the heads up.

Just got me finally a .223 - wanted one last ten years. Ive only shot through the cheap PPU SP 55gr but its accurate as hell and wacks over goats no probs.

I absolutely hate the Warne rings... so will either try find something new or ask on here, along with a second mag.

Only downside to the ol' girl is the awkward bolt lift...... Im hoping a Swaro z3 etc. will have clearance as the tasco (actually quite bright and clear) is only a place holder.

Oh and sorry about large pic, not sure how to crop the hua
