Bugger. Like you say probably not worth the 2 hundy.

    I run a Ghost holster.
Love the holster but replaced my ghost mag pouches with DA ones.

    Nice looking holster

I see people are using magnets now instead of pouches

Might have to give that a go and see how I get on.

    Cheers

1911s arnt production guns. There is a list of approved production guns, use google. 1911/2011s types are in the realm of standard, single stack and open divisions. I used a shadow in standard for a while. Not realy suited to it unless you shoot only alphas and realy fast. Also the mag capacity is limited compared to a tricked out .40 2011

I have a magnet on one of my ghost pouches but it keeps coming loose even with new star washers. When it worked it worked well but ended up going to the DA ones. If you change on the move I don't see any real speed advantage.
You can have my ghost one if you wanna try it.

The only time i use magnets is on table starts and "unload and show clear" pouches are easier to draw off when on the clock imo.

Had a dual tone for about 2 months. 1,200 rounds through it, no issues.

Shot H&K Usp, Sig 226, glocks amd 1911s before buying. It feels like a gun should, grip, trigger, balance and pointability (if thats a word).

Shop around for the Dual Tone. I got mine for $1499 from Shooters Supplies in CHCH.

Lowering the hammer isn't an issue, like R93 said, thumb and forefinger. Remember, not all stages start loaded in the holster anyway. Its only striker fire guys that dont have to lower the hammer.

Personally I have never like the CZ's feel a bit like a toy. I started with a Glock then 4 different 1911's. Para, 2 STI's and a Tanfoglio Single Stack last.
A friend still shoots a CZ "Darkside" open gun but has had a few issues

Shadows are certainly popular and probably best choice for production but they just don't feel right in my hands the way a 1911 does

Not sure CZ would be my choice for an open gun. But for the production division, pretty good bang for the buck.

    If standard, Para or STI.

Love mine. Especially with a lighter hammer spring and recoil spring. Also 1mm fibre front and grip tape!

Being over gunned is under rated.

To be fair nothing feels like a 1911 or variant.

I really like the 16-40. I like them so much I bought one.😆

Know what you mean. The shadow is a great production gun, fits the hand like a glove, great set of sights, sweet trigger, but put an optic on it and it just doesnt feel right, I went down the 2011 path when i went open, much more natural feel to it for me.

Plastic guns feel like toys to me. The shadow is an all steel mans gun! You must be a little confused

My 16-40 was like granddads axe, only factory bits remaining were the frame and slide cost me $2k in 1995
Was better than the STI that replaced it, in that it held 19 in the mag and 1 in gun and still fitted the "box'.

STI Edge held 17 + 1 and had to be 'wedged into the box" CZ is production class so I think not required to fit the "box" and cost a bucket load more

My STI Open gun 29 in the mag + 1 and cost bucket loads more than the std gun.\

Production is where I would be if I were starting again and most likely shooting a CZ
