Sydney is a long way from a 5 n dime store
It's amazing where guns turn up though.
Since forever seamen were never checked getting off ships at ports for example. I client showed me a mint Colt 1911 once,I asked him if it was left over from the war? "Nah he replied,I bought it off a taxi driver in Manilla in the 60s.
"Sixty percent of the time,it works every time"

They (JC Higgins) were made for Sears mail order catalogue in the US. if you google JC Higgins you will see it was Sears brand and many of the larger Gun Co's supplied rifles, shotguns etc under their house brand.

My Czech mother and daughter:
Sporterised Vz33 rebarreled to 7x57, and BRNO Model 21H also 7x57
(also had the granddaughter ZK600 7x57, but she left home).

Not too many of these around.
Velocity is thrilling, but diameter does the real killing.
