Boom, cough,cough,cough
A Steyr Mannlicher .243 which I bought new in 1974 had a Makrolon (fancy name for some kind of plastic) trigger guard, magazine housing and rotary magazine. The front screw that went through the magazine/trigger housing, cracked it under even moderate pressure. I saw the same thing on every used Steyr I came across. For a rifle that cost $420 in 1974 (new Sako Forester was $259) it was not good regardless of Steyr's claims. Otherwise, a fine rifle.
yeah i have a problem my ackley hornet can group better than i can shoot ;-) any idea how i can make it less accurate lol
shooting .17 ackley hornet so size dos'nt matter

Anyone lucky enough to have used the BSA Hunter .222 There were a hell of a lot of in action with the cullers before the Sako Vixen seemed to steel their crown from the late 60's onwards.
I was never lucky enough to use one. I think this rifle did a lot to popularise the .222 as a deer calibre.
Anyone know of its faults.
I have a 2013 very short semi automatic firearm that with factory Belmont ammo , will not cycle , the case expands and jams the action , sometimes I can clear it on my own , other times the nearest fencepost gets used to assist...........

Yep main complaint nah really it's a nagging "I wish" with my Tikka 7mm Rem mag is mag length or was easy to alter my magazine to fit Amax's -the need to replace bottom metal and mag to get 162 Amax's to fit the mag is a bit of a pain. Not that I should worry too much, as it shoots like a laser that 1 round and hand feeds should be enough for most situations.
Oh and a slightly thicker barrel that means you can shoot more than 3 shot groups within 10mins without the barrel getting too hot (under the Gen IV Suppressor) would be nice, so you don't start encountering heat walking of rounds on target. But that's as they say the grain of sand in the Oyster....
BSA Monarchs and Majestic's had real troublesome chambers. I have read of the same problem with the BSA Hunter.
After a few weeks hunting you could hardly shut bolt or extract fired case. I know the problem was mostly caused by loading rounds into the magazine with bloody hands and the blood was probably cooking onto the chamber walls.
And yet I never had the same problem with any other make of rifle.
We used to have to polish the shit out of the chambers with steel wool just to carry on shooting.
