Check the chokes out. I bet their different. If you were to make them the same it might regulate better?

Was thinking that. Fairly easy to bore it out as well? Guessing the left will be tighter than the right.

I was actually thinking of chopping it down to 22 or 24 inches, which would sort them both out to cylinder

Very easy...cordless drill and honing stone off the bargain bin in mitre10 etc. about the only use for the things!!!

If this is for use on Private land , go for it . If on Public land I would not be advertising what you are up to .

About 15 years ago I wanted to try this and bought an old Webley and Scott double.

I tried 2 brands of slugs and also reloaded round balls in place of duck loads. They all regulated at 25 meters and 2 inches. They shot a bit to one side. About 2 inches.

This was just an exercise in playing with a pretend double.

Later I got a 470NE.

I think a big peep sight would work best. Just epoxy it on.
