I managed to find a spot out of the wind and away from everybody

Full sized can and shortened version for Tahr

The DPT looks like a short tubby fella compared to the overbarrel greystone.

    Anyway,
End result of 5 shots through each suppressor is that although the greystone still has a "softer" sound to it, the sharper DPT is actually the quieter of the two.
The DPT doesn't catch my ear like the Greystone does.
I'm definitely impressed with the DPT can.
However if I was to do alot of shooting in a rapid manner I know the greystone will handle it from passed experience, I don't think the DPT can would be very happy about it.
Will I use it, Yes, I will be swapping it over as the main suppessor after some culling in the next couple of weeks.
I will also get the .25 cal modules when they come available to better suit the .243.

    Tahr,
I fired the DPT with 2 and 3 modules as well.
I was pleasantly surprised. I would be prepared to hunt like that. I don't know if swapping from 5 to 3 modules will affect POI as there was a hang of cross wind where I was so didn't even try to shoot a good group.

That's a great report thanks. Could you see the can though the 'scope?

I can see that the road is quite a piece of work (I blew the pic up and it gave a different perspective).

    Cheers

Yes you definitely see it in the scope. I have the low talleys one piece rings on which doesn't help.

Because I like the idea of a small trim can on a small & trim rifle , BUT looks like a version in between the the rimfire & centerfire model will be made as well , so that maybe more suitable for the little Hornet rd .

    I've just tried the .30.
Te moneys in the bank an it's not going back.
Because my barrel has no relief cut DPT are making a new blast chamber with more relief in the thread.
as Barefoot said,it has a differant signature, comfortable to the ear.And at 192 grams its not there.

    can't get photo to upload

Put another 20rnds through it yesterday doing load testing.
Very happy with it, my old suppressor has now been retired.
Stopped in at my engineer on the way home who also shoots. He had a look at it and gave it the big tick for workmanship and value for money quality wise too.
Given he's a perfectionist and builds alot of one off specialist equipment, I consider it a strong endorsement of the quality side.

Now that there has been a bit of rain in the forest I've been able to test out the 25cal version of the suppressor.
Interestingly it sounds noticably different than the 30cal one but with the same noise reduction.
Added bonus with this smaller suppressor over the 30cal is the handloads are about 50fps faster with it

Its the one quartermaster supplies is selling
    VISM - Rifle Case/Shooting Mat ~ W98* - $120.00 : Quartermaster Supplies
someone on here mentioned them before Xmas so grabbed one.
I don't have anything to compare it too, but it means I'm not carrying a bed roll or anything to ly on so I can carry everything in one trip (shootingmat/riflebag and small bag) which is nice. I have to work around where everyone is in the forest on any given day so its a godsend in that respect, a permanent test range is still 12-18months away.

DPT are you working on a modular over barrel suppressor to keep the lenght in front of the barrel to a minimum by any chance? Would be keen on one of those!

the modular ones dont extend far past the muzzle anyway. if they are too long take a baffle out
having it over barrel would look better IMO

im happy as larry with mine as it is tho

from unsuppressed 12 inches of boom to not needing earmuffs and no ear ringing
sound suppression is as good as you can expect
