got 2 gunworks spartans.....one dedicated for the .223
one shared between .270 and the 7.62x39mm
then got given a DPT for the .270 by mate going overseas.
overall length difference between the DPT and GW is bugger all like about an inch. the spartan goes further back on barrel ,balace is similar but funny enough the DPT, slightly lighter "feels" heavier on rifle as its weight is more muzzle forward. sound is similar as is felt recoil.
price is similar and those two options are plenty good enough for me....that R&R testfire tooks loads of working out but when you look at ranking in whats important to you they both stack up pretty well. both lots of companies great to deal with and dont B.S. a fella to make increased sales.

I have read the R&R testfire and found it very interesting. Unfortunately gunworks didn't put up there compact suppressors for the test fire.

    bought a new rifle
ordered a dpt, told them the thread (from the net, wasn't in the new gun's h'book).
    shot for a week +
damn thing would screw itself onto the barrel, needed two hands and 4 grunts to remove
    visited dpt when in hamilton
oh, says Darren, it's the wrong thread....
gave me the right threaded end and sent me on my way.
    Now. That's service!!

I have never been a fan of the DPT suppressors. I don't really even know why but I think the idea of pulling them apart for cleaning pisses me off.
Other brands you just screw on and screw off and forget so maybe I associated the maintenance with build quality.

    However.......
I now have two of the things and I will be the first to say it.............they are very very good.
Both in terms of weight and noise reduction they really deliver.

As far as pulling them apart for cleaning....I don't. I now just treat them the same as other makes and they are fine. A well made quality kiwi product.

i have 4 of them 2 for 22lr/22mag 223 and 260. HAd a gunworks on my rem mag. DPT are good for value and weight as good as hardy for sound that i can hear. Dont bother cleaning them until get loose carbon in them, If you dont want to pull them apart then dont, just use them like a normal one,

Who's got time to clean suppressors? I sure don't, never have & never will.

They basically clean themselves when you shoot them anyway.

I wrote a quiet a bit about the suppressors I had and have but I never mention the AWESOME customer support I had from “Darren”, I “lost” one of my suppressors for fatigue and he did an awesome deal to me and swap it for a brand new one for a fraction of the price discount.
Go DPT... I am sorry I can’t speak for the others.

Definitely over barrel. You can retain a relatively long barrel and not have the suppressor sticking out too much. And I think you can add more to it than a muzzle forward

Over barrel, just done one on my 7.08mm , good noise and recoil reduction , balance of the rifle not overly affected either.

Is there any advantage to putting two Stainless dpt baffles in to a dpt suppressor for AR semi auto use? Or overkill?

Not mag dumping but intend to do some target shooting.

only 1 is required, the second one will not make any difference in prolong use just another baffle as will be a alloy one…
