    E cat paperwork

Hi guys. Can someone inform me of how to correctly turn my A cat AK47 to an E cat registered firearm. Paper work wise. Do I need a permit to procure even tho I already own the firearm?

go to the local arms office they have the form, you also need the E endorsement application if you dont already have E licence

    Here is all the information.
Depends up whether you already hold an E category endorsed licence as to which form(s) you'll need.

Yea have B and E. I thought ya just brought the gun and then went to AO with it and registered it. Or do I have to go twice. Once for the permit to procure and the other with the gun to be registered.

I don't think you need a P2P to obtain it from yourself. Just need an endorsement made specific to that firearm.

    From the NZ police website.

"You need a specific endorsement (General ‘E’ endorsement coupled with a permit to procure, permit to import or POL 67X) from the Police to possess one of these firearms".

On the reverse side of the POL67X, it spells it out under the heading 'Inspection'. I interpret that as; take the rifle in with you when you submit the form as it's already in your posession & save yourself two trips.

Top right hand side of the POL67X notes:
Use this form to make an 'E' endorsement specific where no permit to procure or import is required.

I must say I am reluctant to walk into the Hamilton central Police station with a rifle, gun bag or not :p

I would never take a long firearm into Hamilton central in a soft gun case. I always use a lockable hardcase "equipment" receptacle of stout construction. Much less questions from some of the undesirable inhabitants of the "customer" area.

I like your "or not" ha
