I've just had it happen on a Leuplod VX3i. The model has now been replaced by the VX3 HD which has a proper wide flat turret.
I searched back along a couple of km of double GPS track in open county but couldn't spot it. Zero was rock solid afterwards and I've swapped the windage cap to the top, leaving the side once covered by tape.
Been a bit busy lately so haven't explored the replace on warranty option. The adjustable turrets were both wobbly and turned easily by accident right from the start. I think this is just because it wasn't designed from the ground up as a dialable scope. Mickey mouse add on to a great closed cap scope. Same applies to the Z5.
At 7 rem, I see you have some sort of picatinny rail mounted on your scope.
You could fit a cheap half ring on it , in front of your turret so that any branch or supplejack brushing past does not touch the turret and prevents it from breaking.
That is why I like low profile turrets like the leupold cds or the March ones. Les chances of getting caught and snapping.
Thank you for your reply, it is a mount for my quick release spot light which has plenty of clearence over the turret.
I only shoot open paddocks and tops (no bush) so don't have to worry about knocking it.
Thats the strange thing about this, got riffle out of truck and lay it on my pack, picked riffle up and noticed no turret.
To this day don't know where turret is.
Cheers

The turret will be in the bottom of your gun safe then

That’s a bugger! I’m sure they will get it sorted for you. I love my Z5 as a hunting scope. Yes its not the most robust but everything comes at a cost. The NF NX8 on my rem mag is an epic scope but on my last hunt I did find myself taking the 260 with Z5 as I find my rem mag less pleasant to carry now. Hopefully my new rifle being built will be even lighter again which with the NX8 should make it nicer to carry. If not I might end up with two Z5s! Time will tell hope it gets sorted for ya.
Ok latest update.
I got a call yesterday from Swarovski in Wellington to say my scope has been repaired and is on its way home so I should have it in the next couple of days.
He said they charged them 160 euro's but I don't need to pay anything.
A good result which I am happy with.
Well done Swarovski and thanks again to everyone for their advice
