I've got a Z5 too. I am not worried about how other people view my gear - it's not for show, so what I have done is accept that the Z5 is not super solid and protect it a bit. Piece of pushbike tube folded and stretched double thickness over the objective bell. A protective cover over the Turrets made of car tire tube in the shape of a shuttlecock skirt, cable tied to the tube ahead of the turrets. I would also ditch the torch mount because it probably caused the problem with something getting between the turret and torch mount and levering the turret. Have you tried the magnetic Olight mounts from Sarvo - NZ GR Hunts ?

Thanks for reply, scope only used in open paddocks since rail was put on so nothing caught under it.

I will be using the 223 for spotlighting in the future and just using the 7mm rem mag for long range so rail won't go back on.

I look forward to getting it sighted in again and having that extra option in the safe.

It wouldn't have to of been a stick in the bush for example getting between the turret and the spotlight mount, it could have been the 223 dragged across the 7mm as its pulled out in the heat of the moment from between the front seats, barrel dropped in between and given a yank as your mate hisses FS it's going to run !
I see the mount as a turret damage risk, pleased you are taking it off

@7mm Rem Mag how long did this process take between the time you sent it and when you got it back?

    Glad it's resolved.
I do like Swarovski scope, I don't have one yet but I've heard of a few that failed. Partly just because they are not rugged as some others are but others fail too.

The glass is great and Hope they have worked out the bugs from experience now.

Scope arrived down from Wellington today in a well packed box.
A nice little suprise inside the box, a cap and 3 magazines.

Well done Swarovski, it is great to see a company look after their clients a really nice touch.
