    Exporting Firearms.

Acknowledging that MFAT is a thing, and that fee’s ($400ish) and forms apply.

Has anyone considered exporting their MSSA firearms to friends/family in the states?

I would rather a good friend of mine have/purchase my MSSA gear vs handing it over to a left wing extremist for destruction. I would also think that collectors items could be of a lot more value overseas as well, would be a shame to destroy them or make them inert.

    Thoughts and feedback?

    Cheers,

    HK

If your guns came from the states you will most likely find the US Export Permits were noted "Permanent Export" and therefore not able to be re-imported in to the USA. At least thats whats on mine

Canada can take a bit. No AK based stuff for instance, but a lot of other things can be.

There must be some shady Russian arms dealers looking to make a quick buck, get on to the so called dark web and make inquiries

Interesting...I didn’t directly import mine, I got mine through Kev at NZAR15. (Full LWRC DI build) So I guess I’ll have to ask him.

If you're sending them to Australia it would likely end up being cheaper to just fly over with them. Bring them as checked luggage and hand them off to your mate.

I'll be taking my BSA 15 with me to give to Dad when I go home to visit the folks because its not worth the minimum $400 to freight it.

Edit: I misread the OP but yeah, it'd still likely be cheaper since the $400 estimate I assume you got off seriousshooters.conz is for shipping to Pacific countries not the US.

Meat doesn't have a fee, free. I've exported my ar15 6 times to south Africa and back, no cost for any paperwork.

I asked a exporter here in nz a few weeks ago and they sent this:

YOU MUST FIRST OBTAIN AN IMPORT PERMIT FROM THE

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives

ONCE YOU HAVE THAT YOU WILL NEED TO APPLY FOR AN EXPORT PERMIT FROM THE NZ MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFARS & TRADE.

THEN YOU WILL NEED FIND A COMPANY TO ARRANGE THE EXPORT – AND IT WON’T BE CHEAP; PROBABLY AROUND $1,200NZ

Someone needs to buy/rent a container and find an external buyer. Load it to the brim with fire arms and ship it off. (Lol)
