    Feeding options for Defiance

I have a defiance deviant hunter action that has a box and hinged floor plate feed system.

It is my guide gun. It is an absoloute bitch of a thing as it rusts at the slightest hint of moisture and took me ages to tune in order to have it semi serviceable. I have had clients struggle with reloading on the fly as well and that's not good if you need a follow up shot quick.
I am wondering if anyone that uses/used the same action can recommend a different system. ADL/BDL or a detachable system I can plug and play.
Not a fan of detachable systems for hunting but a flush compact mag might be better than what I am dealing with now.

    Cheers

I would imagine any Remington style drop out mag systems could be usable. H-S Precision.... https://hsprecision.com/product/remi...nversion-kits/

    I Ceracoted my Defiance

Which part is rusting? The mag box or the bottom metal?

Mate ive got two defiance and curtis Vector...im running Atlasworks DBM bottom metal with MDT 5 shot mags. they are flush with the bottom of the trigger guard.
Not ideal but easy to show the gun is unloaded once all the action is over

Mag box as I think bottom metal is alloy but it's stained from rust.

    Did you see this? https://wyattsoutdoor.com/fixing-feeding-issues/

I checked original receipt and it says, "Wyatt bottom metal and extended mag box". Perhaps drop Wyatt an email with photos and they might replace??

Link doesn't work for me mate but did find another.
I have it working and I personally have no issues with manipulation and feeding but a few of my hunters have. Need something a monkey can work reliably. Most of all I am sick of the rust. Maybe not an issue elsewhere in the country but here on the coast its a pain in the ass.

I have to stay on top of it as parts of the action also rust rather quickly.
I assume starting from the mag box.

I am keen to find a detachable mag system. I can then keep a spare loaded mag in my pocket for fuckups

That’s no good for a high end action like that. I would expect better rust protection for the money they cost.

Bit the bullet and bought some bottom metal and 2 x 5 rnd mags. Wasnt cheap but cheaper than the issues I was having, could cause.

I agree but do not think it is the action more so than the rust migrating to the action from wyatt box and bottom metal.

Spent a heap of coin and hopefully have the 2 issues sorted now.
Hopefully have it sorted for when my next hunters show up on Monday or they will be cleaning rust off guns all week while I chow down all the whitebait

If a magazine poking out bothers you, you can get flush fit 3 round AICS mags
