What did you get in the end in the way of mags and bottom metal? Have thought about it myself as I like the spare mag bit.

Bought AICS 5 rnd mags and Rem SA AICS bottom metal.

I don't even use the rifle myself except to check zero every now and then so it better work

there is a product called Fluna tec sold by Reloader supplies that may help you stop a lot of these problems it is a spray-on coating that is suitable for all types of rifles, pistols, and knives is effective on metal and plastics and maintains long-lasting weapon performance and accuracy highly effective protection against wear. the residue-free solid lubricant protects the weapons from corrosion.
I used it to stop my blued rifles from going rusty in my gun safe food for thought

Just finished fitting the bottom metal to the Deviant. Took a bit of work with the dremel but its now fitted and works perfect.
Dunno if I made the right call for a hunting rifle but time will tell. Have to buy a new stock if I change my mind again anyway

Yeah I spose it does. The way I walk around and carry a rifle it would take some getting used too because of where my hand goes but shouldn't be an issue for clients when they normally walk around with it slung until they need it

Yup. Doubt it will rust now. Feeding is smoother and precise.

@R93 whats the max OAL on those mags? I'm guessing there is no binder strip in them.

76mm is what I measure it at.
I have a couple mm spare with the OAL that suits the rifle.

Promising for me then, I'm at 75.8mm on a Wyatt box with the throat on my 260. Would prefer single stack and removable mag over the BDL bottom metal I've got now.
