Well you learn something everyday & saying that maybe in my advanced years I should have learnt to keep my mouth shut

I went into the local postshop to send my Leupy scope away to the States for repair,

So I tied up all my shit at work & rock on down to send me scope away spend 5+mins waiting in the cue with all the other plebs ( now I remember why I don't bank with Kiwibank)

finally get to the counter & put my brown paper wrapped box on the scales & the old duck pases me a small customs tag & I naively ask which box tio tick as its a warranty claim

Whats it's value she asks, about 2 odd grand

Q - ohh, What is it ?

A- scope

Q- a what ?

A-a rifle scope (Oops shouldn't have said that)

No we can't take that

Aye! Don't give me that horse shit' I reply & I explain that it only goes on top of the bloody thing & is basically a bit of glass & alloy

I'll have to ring someone to confirm, So she rings HO & as soon as she mentions the dreaded word "rifle" it's a no go, NZ POST will not handle anything to do with rifles


So I say how about we call it a telescope/spotting scope, well that do ?

Yes that would be OK, but she won't take it as she knows what it is

So that was a farken waste of 20min's that I could of been working & now I have to go back today
