So if you want a 7 08 get a 7 08 rather than a remmag and load it down to 7 08 velocity while burning more powder in a longer heavyer rifle right.?

Its like pulling 5 plug leads off your v8 cos you dont need all the power.

I could probably load my 308 down to x39 velocity but why the Hell would you?

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

Hi guys, just walked in from the range. Gun shoots really well. Put a few groups together, unfortunately I don't have the targets to show you as the range was busy and couldn't be bothered waiting.
Shot some old federal blue box to begin and shot a 3 shot group within the one inch box.
Then i changed to the new 140gr sst Hornady superformance. Now im not sure if it was the ammo or the heating at that stage but the groups started to open up to a 1"-2.5" groups. So i let her sit for a wee while and tried again. No change, the 140grs were not tracking well. Dug into my day back where I knew there were a few old 130grs floating around. Put them through and went back to -1". bit of a shame. Range was as busy as a 50 cent whore house so buggered off to free up the lane. Will reload some new 130s and try again.
All in all the rifle functioned really well and the 130 groups were bloody good. Happy camper

Sweet, Bugger the superformance if blue box shoots well:thumbup:

The superformance seems to be a real your rifle will either love it or hate it ammo from what I have heard.

Yeh she was a bit of fun. Xmas came early. I have heard the same in regards to the superformance. I broke the rifle in and have left it. 1 shot clean, 1 shot clean, 2 shot clean, 3 shot clean. Then left it. should be sitting right where i left off. Hopefully the next shot will be at something with a heart beat rather than a piece of paper.

Hi guys. reporting back. Did a bit of work on the rifle, took it out of the stock, wiped away the residual oil etc. Then put it back together and torqued it all up. Took it to the range tonight and shot some new winchester 130gr powerpoint rounds. Managed a 1/2 inch group at 100m. Very happy man. Had been annoying me all week after my issues with the 140gr Hornady superformance but finally got it sorted.
