Im thinking a .308 bolt action of some sort would be best for you.

Theres ammo everywhere and can get cheaper ammo for just stuffing around. Has plenty of punch for any animals you want to hunt as well

The quickest way is with CRC Brakeleen or similar. The cheapest way is with turps and a parts brush. Takes about half an hour from sliding it out of the bag to ready to shoot. Best to watch a YouTube video first though to show how to disassemble quickly and tips etc.

How about a .243 from what i understand its faster than a .308 but a bit lighter so not much recoil. Another thing to keep in mind is that on a range you will feel every bit of recoil, mean while if you have your sights on a deer adrenalin sorts that out for you and you hardly feel a thing.
    Good luck buddy
