I think if you actually measured out 100 yards it would surprise you as to how far it is. I would go with a sks . Have used one with good results for years and ammo is cheap. Havent seen an air rifle yet that can shoot as well as yours.
"Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.
308Win One chambering to rule them all.
wants something to take on geesee -yeah bloody right -get an irate gooseshooter on your arse like a scrub bullwith PMT and a 105mmpack howitzer could be underpowered.
is it just me or is this a little tongue in cheek tit pulling thread in this chaps self advertisement.
hi, not knowing much- had thought the 100 m example was a good benchmark.
Can't do it all the time-depends on my laziness,-mostly.
At the time could almost guarantee 25+ out of 30 into a 2litre paint tin after the first 1.
This sort of accuracy would be OK. I know I have do allow for drop of trajectory and wind-depending on my ammunition choice. And at 180m just to hit the tin if I could see it would be good.
Yes geese at 180 m I would be very lucky-something that size in body should be possible.
No use with a $2 shop quality design-or even not designed for the intended use.
Had thought no use getting something with poor precision- projectiles will have enough of influence- let alone weather and me.
Better do the legal clarification:- not my air rifle-used under direct supervision of FAL holder. Was Daystate Air-ranger PCP .22.
Can buy when have FAL.
Rabbits at about 35m max, possums same-both better closer, especially possums, and missed quite a few;- goat at 8m- needed finishing shot. Target at rest sitting at the BBQ table. Measured with chinese builders rangefinder-from bunnings apparently.
Own air rifle is Falke springer-OK without a license and good for baked bean tins at 15m.
Again- standard effective kill range at a usual 20-80 m is given my limited experience is what I'm after.
Apart from the mechanics of it= up to me to responsible for my placement.

What about a lever like a scoped s/s marlin in .30-30? Could still be suppressed and would be light, short and accurate enough?
"Here's the deal I'm the best there is. Plain and simple. I wake up in the morning and I piss excellence."
OK thanks guys- what is the difference in use between a 223 and 243? or 7.62?
Better performance in the wind because of bigger projectile?
Bigger case = more power/hydraulic shock potential/flatter flight/more or less recoil?
Pricing?
Does it matter, or depends on what you can find at the time?

Ruger Mini 30 in 7.62x39. Pros: Accurate enough, cheap round, will kill everything you want it to kill within your specified ranges, short for the carry, easily and effectively suppressed, can be bloody rough on them, good recoil and cheap
Cons: never had one to tell what chamber noise is like, but no semi auto will be quiet compared to a bolt action.
Marlin X7 in 7mm08 would fit your budget and leave room for a good scope to replace the crap one they come with and still enough funds for a suppressor to be fitted and for a budget rifle they are very accurate and like a diet of 120gr privi partizan hollow point and 150gr federal blue box ammo, the down side is they have no floor plate or detachable magazine and only fit 4 in the mag. With a semi auto centerfire you're limited to no more than 7 round capacity under an A cat license any way. If a detachable mag is a must then go for a tikka T3, remington 700 sps, howa 1500, Remington 783 or ruger american
RULE 4: IDENTIFY YOUR TARGET BEYOND ALL DOUBT
To be a Human is to be an Alien, ask the animals, We invade this world and we are killing it, we are destroying the earth and nobody gives a fuck except for the animals
.
Plus 1 for the SKS they were built to be abused and still keep functioning when an AR has given up and gone home for repairs
