Well I have made the decision to go ahead and get one fitted. Talked to the guys at NZ Asia and they reckon about $100 per turret (Including shipping) and a 1-2 month turnaround at the moment. Just have to drop it off to Stacy at the local Hamills and I'm all sorted.

Is NZ asia the dreaded nz leupold agent that lets your scope sit there till they have enough to send away?

I could help by sending mine to them to have the same thing done I suppose

They told me they send a package of scopes for repairs/custom shop work every friday so hopefully the wait isn't that long. The bloke said that quite often the turnaround is quite a lot faster but didn't want to say 3 weeks only to take 6 weeks. I am having that exact issue with another importer regarding a warranty replacement, who quoted 4 weeks for replacement, and that was at easter! still waiting too.

Sending scopes off every Friday? I know there's a ton of leupolds in nz but that's either a heap of custom turrets or a heap of repairs!

I have one of those stones point turrets. They are not to bad as long as you remember how many revolutions you are away from zero. Because there is no indication once you have forgotten how many Turns you did dial in last.
That is were the standard leupold target turret shines.
What about the CDS? Is there a kind of zero stop?
I would love to put one on a few of my leupolds.

No Its only .308 and for bush shooting so not long range . Ill buy another scope with turrets for dialling eventually then put this VX111 back on AR on QR mount where it was for night shooting.

Fair enough, you would be better off without exposed turrets for bush stalking anyway, especially in the Kaimais.

One wrong turn and you are only about 15" at 100 yds. I can not really call that miles! It might not be enough to miss but would be enough to wound big game. Plus, bore sighting is definitely not an exact science. When I see how many barrels more or less bent I had through my lathe and having sighted in a lot of rifles you sometime get some surprises!

And bore sighting in the middle of the bush while not impossible is not the easiest.
