My Sako Black Bear .308 weighs less than the specs indicate. It's 7lb 5oz (3.3kg) with a Leupold VX-2 2-7X33 scope and mounts. Not super light, which I don't want in a rifle, but not heavy either.
To me, accuracy, balance, pointability i.e. the overall handling is far more important than being a super light rifle. The Sako Black Bear is basically a Finnlight with a heavier fluted barrel. The heavier, stiffer barrel gives the rifle a nice off hand balance and probably enhances accuracy. My sample is exceptionally accurate and will put 5 shots under .5 MOA. I wish Beretta NZ would import the Sako BB in .338 Federal (not .338 magnum).
