Argh that is a good feeling. You smoke your pipe and I will oil my .303 and pick beech leaves out of the open sights

It is true. I desire to return to simpler times when men had beards and shot open sight .303 and thought themselves well equipped. There are too many people and rifles floating around that appear to have no souls.

First rifle I ever shot was a Miroku Mbolt .243
It was used to control the goat population on a farm back in 1998 and I happened to know the supplier so went straight home and bought one.
For me it’s the flat shooting trajectory and low recoil that makes it a favourite. Every cartridge has its limitations whether it’s ‘knock down power’ or ‘too much recoil’ and so being able to shoot without a flinch was one of the main reasons it stayed in our safe.
Had a super accurate Tikka super light that enjoyed 95gr Targex projectiles that were the right kind of killing power for our intended use on reds and long range (500yds) goats and many of my friend say new to shooting were able to use it effectively out to 350.
Have moved onto the high powered 6.5 creedmoor now
