    Getting a centrefire rifle

    I'm bloody getting one. Not planning on ridge to ridge attack but 300 yards will do me.

    So what caliber you members brain rekon?

    I recon you already have your mind made up
    Somewhere between 223 and 338 fed should do the job.

    I don't try to enter these threads anymore but as I know you mate and were you will generally hunt and what type of hunting you will be doing id say 308, in any brand because bush hunting dosnt judge.Good luck see you in 8 pages time buy then you would have bought a 308 and put a deer in the freezer before this thread dies a natural death

    308 it is then Dundee (and I don't even have one - how bad is that)
    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
    What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
    Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
    Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
    Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
    Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
    Rule 5: Check your firing zone
    Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
    Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
