Hey hey, I blame your rifle. Something was up even you struggled. I was going to bring you a crayfish tomorrow.

Nothing wrong with a single shot, all it takes is one.

Single shot would be fine for gongs! But you need more than 1 for hunting in the bush on the way up or for a follow up shot. Will sit in the safe until we can sort it out.

Freezer, lots of people hunt with single shot rifles...

If I need a follow-up shot, all you do is open the breech, put another round in and ready to go. Maybe takes me a couple of seconds longer than bolt, but doesn't bug me at all...

Each to their own i guess. I would have lost a stag this roar if it wasn't for the quick follow up. no way could I fumble round for another round as it moved off. maybe i have too many thumbs.

Valid reasons to select a singleshot over a repeater include:

Gimpster, people are different, some enjoy using different firearms, that does not make it "invalid"...

So is bow hunting any less valid a means of hunting (especially in the follow up shot scenario) in your view ?

Because you are using a 222/223 which as everyone knows never needs more than 1 shot or was that the 257 Weatherby?

There are more disadvantages to a single shot than a repeater would be the correct way of putting it. No one needs reasons to select what firearm they choose to hunt with though, Gimp is just being an ass

Don't be silly, everything is valid apart from having a single shot that is meant to function with a mag.
