Not too sure on the scoped weight Abe. 5.75lb bare though.
Used to be in live with them but theyre a barrel burner without the payoff. A 6.5/284 isnt far behind it in velocity and miles ahead in barrel life and efficiency. And if you want balls out speed the 6.5/300wsm variety is the way to go

As Chris said it's 6.5-300wsm, trued rem700 la, shillin tube 22 inch will burn this 1 an have 26 for next but loving the 22inch so don't know. McMillan hunters edge stock, Talley alloy rings, scope will be either a march or premier but is Bushnell for the loads an 1st few animals of more to come.
Pushing the 130swift an 140burgers,
Still have to flute bolt an handle, an alloy firing pin assembly to at present comes in at 3.45kg in photo. Have can for it to points nice but just for goat's an tahr. Turns reds inside out an swifts an to hard for stinkies in through them long ways an 250m with ease
Apawpawa rams an swifts on other hand so on tahr they will be the 1

What do you call miles ahead? - Most of the 6.5/284s I have had anything to do with have toppled over at around 1000 -1200 rounds and sometimes earlier and at the most inconvenient time ie in the middle of several day shooting champs. Probably not a problem in a hunting rig although if you get a kick out of bombing goats you could reach that round count soonish. No free lunches with hot calibres is there?

As low as 5-600 rounds if you load it hot
