No not an obendorf. No makers markings. Looks like a military barrel shortened. Just put some 150 sierras through her. Got up to 2660 in the short barrel. Will load some up tomorrow and see how they group at 100yds.

Brand new Sako 85 hunter in .243. Barrel shortened to 510mm, DPT suppressor, bedded, trigger lightened. Kahles 418TT in optilocks (rear mount shimmed 0.02"). Shooting 85gr sierra HPBT projectiles at 3100fps. Target shows a 3 shot group with new lapua brass and a four shot group same load in fire-formed brass. My inability to call mirage causes the horizontal stringing on the second group. As expected fire-formed load shoots a little high. Target was 506m. Needless to say, I am real happy with it so far

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

@nor-west do you have an oberndorf Mauser? My one is a bit of a bitser. No makers or proofs stamps on the action. The butt plate is actually off a pre64 Winchester. It is nicely made though and I'm looking forward to taking her hunting. Got some 150gr going 2660fps. Just need to check the zero with the open sites.

No I don't and after seeing what Graeme Champion has I realise I will never be complete until I have 20 odd Oberndorf mauser's sitting in my gunrack, you know he had four identical Kurz Mauser's in 250 Savage all lined up together just to start, and on it went every style every calibre.............the bastard...........
