Yip, if it shoots the way it should then I expect I'll be putting putting the Ruger 308 up for sale before too long - no point keeping both of them and I prefer the Savage action.

A few weeks ago I pre ordered a gun from Ken at NZAR15... Anticipating its arrival on Saturday I went home (from Uni) but the uncertainty of it arriving in the mail on Saturday made it a long morning waiting for the postie..
When the postie turned up I could hardly contain my excitement!!

As you can see below, I already had all of the other components ready waiting for it. The scope from @300_BLK , Fab Defense grip from @Sasquatch , plastic 30mm to 1" inserts from Aliexpress, ammo from Barnaul NZ and Burris PEPR from NZAR15.

My brother, girlfriend and I got straight into cleaning and assembling - putting all the parts together felt like playing with lego .
Unfortunately the magazine isn't here yet so we had to single load every shot.. It had 60 rounds put through it in a day and half and I'm so happy with it! Best purchase I've made in a while.
Top to bottom: Savage .223, Savage .270, NEA 14.5" 7.62x39 (planning to make it shorter and suppress)

PS its a loud bastard with the short barrel and muzzle brake! Quite a shock wave if standing to the side of it.

Welcome to club AR 7.62x39 or Flames R US
Our 25m range now has scorch -marks due to mine.
7.62x39 was designed for a 20inch barrel so they make quite a flame out of a 14.5er. Shortening the barrel will make it worse and you will loose velocity. It is also possible that the gas system may not work that well. I fitted a 9inch hand guard from Ken and my MAE AR10 suppressor now fits perfectly. It really tames the nasty flame (visible from the scope view!).

Yeah Ken (what a good bastard) is letting me swap the stock 12" rail for a new 9" one. The only reason I wanted to shorten the barrel is so the gun doesn't end up front heavy and unbalanced.. What is yours like with suppressor? What design is the suppressor you have? How heavy?
Also what ammo do you use?

Just picked up a Tikka T3 Superlite .223 Gotta say that it really covers the Rem SPS for quality by some way. Feels amazing and I'm hoping it shoots.
