    Finally sorted rings for my 527 which brought the VX2 2-7x33 down to a really good check weld:

    Yeah, was thinking that as I was grinding away, mind you it really only needs to be strong enough to cam/uncam off a round so plenty thick for that.... Time will tell!

    Cheers. I looked long and hard at ammo between 7.62x39 and 223 and decided to go 223 much higher quality can be had and its easier for me to get my hands on. Plus I can always load my 6.5x55 down to around 7.62x39 levels

    I own the 7.62x39 version but don't like the carbine stock shape which is an open sight design.
    I also have a 300 whisper one. Tikka rings work on them as well.
