Put bullet in one end squeezed trigger and bullet came out the other end, so a win in that regard. Was meant to be running it in but grab all the wrong calibre cleaning gear. Just have up and put a heap of rounds through it. Grouped alright considering I was using red dot at 100m. When I next get motivated I'll put a proper scope on and do things properly

I got curious about the Remington 700 Mountain Rifle so I bought one in .308 for using in the bush and hills (bush covered hills) around Southland. Barrel cut to 18" and added a DPT magnum over barrel suppressor (14x1 thread). Same OAL with suppressor and feels well balanced with Leupold VX-1 3x9-40 LRD scope and Talley one piece alloy rings. No animals on the ground yet. Been busy setting up new house and still hobbling around after tweaking a calf muscle a couple of weeks ago.

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

So I had a heavy 300 whisper,a 60 year old ZKW Hornet stock and a CZ .223 barrel.the scope is 1 3/4-5 Burris full field
The hard bit was scarfing the stock to take the mag release catch.

Carving up a timber stock at the moment, and I'm unsure how to finish it.

Use a varnish remover and take it back to wood with linseed oiled finish. I had a Sako Vixen with same gloss varnish and when hunting in very cold weather the varnish would go opaque and you could move it with your fingers.

    Spunky!
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Remove varnish, steam out dents, rub in a bunch of boiled linseed oil then like beeswax over top or something.

It's out by a few inches, sort your shit out😆

Pretty good considering your foresight is fat enough to blot out the whole 100m mound and beyond.
