You could say that. I do it occasionally with iron sights. Missed a hare the other week with my HK .223 doing the same thing. Line up sights, look at animal to see the effect when the trigger is squeezed, miss.

Don't worry. I do it with a scope.

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

Make, model ..... and your opinion is???
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

    It is a RPS Bipod.
It shoots well, handles recoil extremely well, is very stable with the wide base of the legs, the feet grip grass and concrete very well, it mounts on a versa-pod spigot and is very easy and fast to put on and take off the rifle, it is very well made and I don't anticipate ever breaking it... it is also expensive so I don't plan on buying another (or the titanium version!), it is comparatively heavy which doesn't matter to me so much on my competition rifle and as it is quickly and easily detachable, it doesn't extend as tall as my previous harris which means I will likely get a tall harris (the one you can sit behind) to compliment this one on my competition rifle.

I tried it while setting the Tarata Medium Range shoot positions but its first competition in "anger", so to speak, will be this weekend. So far I am very happy with it.
