    Beautiful rifle,
very nice set up. As a side note how are the Alumina's - I have a naked VX6 also, my best mate (respected gun retailer) wont sell me them he reckons they are no good for the bush. Thoughts?

They seem to be the best of the flick up covers, but cost a fortune and are a pain in the bush. My back one actually unscrewed and disappeared in the bush so I took the front one off and reverted back to a neoprene cover.

And the Sako stainless wood hunter in 270, w a Zeiss conquest, soon to be wearing a DPT so I start using it again.

Everything gets used a fair bit. All I'm after now is maybe a 308 bush pig and some kind of super extreme unnecessary magnum.

Might sell it. Or put it on the 22-250. Currently under debate.

As Tahr said, Yup Alumina's are the best flick ups as they are well made, fit properly & flick right back against the scope body ( so aren't to bad in the scrub as they're kinda out'a the way ) One thing to watch though, is that they aren't waterproof so if your'e hunting in the wet flick em up well before going for a shot or you might find some condensation when eyeing up on that nice 12 pointer
Shoot it, root it & then BBQ it !!!

Ya either hate em or love em.
I really rate them, most are semi waterproof but if your hunting in the pissing down rain they seem to "fog" at altitude.

Cheers for the feedback. So primo for keeping sticks and shit out while pushing through thick shit, but in the wet or up high with temperature changes be prepared to remove condensation. Probably a good investment given the scope value and bugger all added weight.

    Back to porn
