Got my model 7 7Saum back today from its 'Jenny Craig fat camp'.... it's merely a shadow of its former self.
Bare weight as pictured 2,488 grams, that's under 5.5 lbs.
Stug CF stock weighing only 522 gr including the limbsaver.
While in Canterbury, I got Gunworks to flute the barrel with 12 thin flutes, flute the bolt and skeletonise the handle and fit a small light alloy nob.
Very happy with it, also swapping out the original steel bases and rings for talleys and it'll go just over 3kg once scoped up with either my 15x Super Slam or 20x vortex viper.
Shaved 1kg off what it was before.

Love the fluting.....got me thinking now.
Last bits turned up today on my first rattlegun
Noveske upper, Aero lower, Paladin switchblock in 300blk, should be fun, and a good excuse to go find a replacement for my long lost goat spot.
Just gotta sort some optics for it which has been a confusing process, trying to decide between a 1-4/6 style scope or just a dirty red dot. Will either wear a spare nikon 3-9 in the mean time or I might just play with the irons for a bit of a laugh.
Milspec trigger is at least as horrible as the internet says so thats gotta go also.
Hopefully the mounts turn up tomorrow so I can get out the range on sunday,
Finally got a real one to replace my replica
