    Cool

    Hi,

I have been slowly upgrading my rifle so will do a retrospective of the stages.

It originally started as a Howa .270 with a factory synthetic stock and a Nikko Stirling scope.

Phase 1: I replaced the scope with a Bushnell Trophy 3-9x40 MilDot with Weaver Tactical Rings
Phase 2: I replaced the stock with a Boyds Laminate and pillar bedded it using brass pillars and JB Weld
Phase 3: I replaced the Bushnell Trophy with a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 using Burris XTR rings, and bedded a EGW HowA LA Rail.

Really happy with it now, but going to swap the rings out again for a lower model to get a better cheek weld. Groups tightly since the stock change and should be even better now with a good optic, looks forward to shooting it once the new rings are on.

    Cheers,
    Ollie

Not a new rifle but finally in my new home. Mossberg MMR Hunter threaded for a MAE Mini Target suppressor which I also use on a Savage 93 .22 WMR.

Looking forward to trying it out on a "wallaby weekend" around Waimate at the end of October.

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

When I recently renewed my licence I was told not to store ammo with my firearms. The woman told me to "put it in my sock draw" or something!!!
    Really??
You need a licence to buy the stuff but she wanted me to keep it in my sock draw???
