NZ equivalent of 'assault weapon'; certain features on a semi-auto that make it harder to get legally

When you can, replace those rings... mine had a horrible habit of binding like little b*stards!!

    Start off my custom rifle.

Currently a Weatherby Mark V in 7mm WBY that I got with dies and brass for $900.

Off to STUG for a STUG stock in 6months, before that it will be getting a 26" number 4 300 win mag Trueflite barrel. Then a DPT and either a Maisey or Terminator break. Will have my Vortex HS 4-16 x 44 mrad on top. And of course reloading gear :-)

My interpretation of a tops rifle :-)

Finally got the new savage 223 chopped and threaded. Got it back this evening, so with perfect conditions outside, I quickly swapped the scope over from the remington, and popped over to the farm for a bit of a test-fire and sight-in.

Initial results very promising, and it's lovely to shoot.
Both groups were the same load, but I tried a different shooting style for each. (bipod tension vs relaxed hold). Seems to prefer the stress-free approach.
Wasn't allowing any time between shots for the barrel and can to cool, as the sandflies were in full force. All the same, I suspect it might be a shooter..

1944 Mauser K98k. Non-matching but was produced by the Mauser factory at Obendorf am Neckar and is in pretty good condition.

Just snagged this S&W US Army Model 1917 for the unbelievable price of $500.

She's in super tight mechanical condition, the finish is amazing for a 100 year old wheel gun, she didn't go through a re-arsenal, all the WWI acceptance stamps are crisp and clear.

Not one of my usual humble brag threads of where I rob the evidence locker but I think I did well.

Nice! My Webley is WWI and is not as pristine as your S&W, in fact a bit rough in areas. Where are you based? I want to shoot that
