He's also 30+ year retired Homicide Detective and worked during the 80s Drug Wars.
20rd mags just seems like extra weight to carry. I'd like to get a 10rd (pinned to 7) for appearance/ease of handling purposes, but that's low priority, coming after a nice DPT suppressor and maybe an optic upgrade. I like the look of wood, but seamlessly filling the selector hole on a USGI stock is easier on fibreglass. If home defense were a concern for me, I think I'd prefer something in .223. From what I've read, it's about the least likely to cause overpenetration chaos. Short barrel .308 seems like it would risk blinding/deafening the defender as well.

The aforementioned USGI stock, after some sanding and filling, before painting.

    THANK YOU!

It is the criminal that is ultimately at fault from the start here. He's/She's the ne that broke into the vehicle. It is no different than folks saying the lady that was raped is at fault because she decided to wear a skimpy dress and a pair of pumps.

My Dad is set in his ways. He's never been a fan of 5.56. He's from the generation of the M1 Granad and 12 gauge 00 Buck. Hell, when he started he carried a S&W Model 10 on a cross draw holster and reload on a dump pouch.

But that is one fine rifle you have there. Enjoy her, treat her nicely, and she'll be with you until the end of time.

They are a gazetted pest where they are, read the blurb. Just like stoats are cute pets in some places, they are a menace there.
